Technical Specifications
The fiber optic protection sleeve is created from a shrinkable plastic tube with a metal insert inside. The fibers are inserted into the plastic tube before splicing. After the splice is made, the shrinkable tube is heated and contracts onto the splice. The result is an optical splice that protects the fiber optic cable from breakage and unwanted bends, by covering them with a plastic tube. This provides flexibility for installation while using fiber splices during installation.
