Proximity cards are contactless credentials available with MIFARE classic or MIFARE Chip of DESFire EV1. They include an embedded antenna and an integrated circuit, which allows contactless reading with respective readers. The unique board number is printed on top of the contactless card which allows reading by readers.

The card size conforms to a credit card size according to the ISO standard, allowing surface printing with conventional ISO-compatible card printers. This card is durable with IP68 and can be fully submerged; all electronics are sealed inside.
Basic functions
- MIFARE cards have a wire antenna and an embedded MIFARE chip.
- The card is recognized and read when held in front of the reader.
- The reading process is passive with a frequency of 13.56 MHz.
- MIFARE cards support multiple application areas that can be individually protected.
