GENERAL INFORMATION
A high voltage cable is a cable used for high voltage electrical power transmission. A cable includes a conductor and insulation. High voltage cables have a variety of applications in instruments, ignition systems, and AC and DC power transmission. In general, the cable insulation should not deteriorate due to high voltage stress, ozone caused by electrical discharges in the air, or cable laying. The cable system must prevent contact of the high voltage conductor with other objects or people, and must maintain and control leakage current.
